We are thrilled to be supporting overseas disability charity CBM’s new appeal to help people in the worlds’ poorest places See the Way to a brighter future.
Every day, people become needlessly blind because of conditions that can be easily treated. Too often for people living in poverty, losing your sight also means losing the chance to go to school, live independently or earn a living. Launched on 15th February, the appeal will raise funds to improve access to sight-saving surgery, glasses and support, enabling people to attend school, read and write, get around safely and support themselves and their families. Until 14th May 2019, all public donations to the See the Way appeal will be doubled by the UK Government.

When Joseph lost his sight to cataracts, he became isolated and reliant on his children to grow and provide food for him: “I just sat around, always needed help”. But since sight-restoring surgery at CBM’s partner hospital, this grandfather from Rwanda has regained his independence and is looking forward to visiting his neighbours again.
Realnet will be helping to raise awareness of the See the Way appeal through promoting the appeal through social media channels.
