Free online business listing tool Google My Business has added new functionality to further enhance their product’s capability.
The new feature allows businesses that serve customers within a particular geographical area to list that service area on their Google My Business listing.
For example, it can be used by:
- A business that visits or delivers to customers, but doesn't serve customers at its business address (e.g. a plumber or cleaning service).
- A business that serves customers at its business address, but also visits or delivers to customers (e.g. a restaurant that also delivers food).
To take advantage of this service, businesses can log into their GMB profile and set their service area based on city, postcode and/or other areas that they serve.
