The introduction of new product buttons in desktop search is designed to enhance online sales.

Search Engine giant Google has added a new buttons feature to their card-style product listing ads that appear on the right rail of desktop search results.

The buttons include 'details', 'reviews' and 'stores', and offer users more detailed information in a pop-up overlay when clicked.

The new feature replicates the 'view more' function in mobile search, however, the desktop buttons have a new interface, and appear above the image carousel on the product card.

Once clicked the overlay pops up and gives users an extensive list of relevant information.

The new feature is designed to enhance the online shopping experience by surfacing high-quality product information at a single click before diving deeper into specific product websites.
