WiSen Innovation uses its patent WiSen Mesh technology – developed by graduates from Cambridge University Civil Engineering Department – in the deployment of wireless sensor mesh networks in the IoT market.
Realnet built WiSen Innovation’s website on the WordPress platform and offers ongoing hosting and support.
When WiSen Innovation approached us to review their existing website, it became apparent that the existing focus was on broader industry applications rather than their actual products, without a clear sales or marketing focus. There was also little or no SEO on their previous website – many pages did not appear to be optimally set up with issues such as simple meta titles, duplicate meta descriptions and poor use of semantics within the page content.
They wanted a website that would allow their two main product categories – MeshNET and MeshWAN – to be promoted and clearly explained, whilst keeping the industry sector and application information as a secondary focus. Additionally, they needed a website that could be quickly and easily scaled up from around 10 products to enable many more – potentially 120 products – spread across approximately 12 sub-categories within the main MeshNET and MeshWAN categories.
In short, the new website needed a far greater focus on:
- Generation of (meaningful) sales enquiries for MeshNET and MeshWAN products
- Back up information to other sales and marketing activity
Realnet created a project plan and new website offering visitors a simple product catalogue based on WooCommerce but without the ecommerce elements. Product information is now displayed in a consistent, easy to assimilate manner on the product pages. Information is split into Key Features, Applications and Specification sections with accompanying downloadable data sheets. Backup technical information is now available in a ‘How it Works’ section.
Internal links to relevant pages make traversing the website easy with visitors able to view more and more technical information as they drill down. Overview pages for industry sectors move interested visitors to the relevant technology information pages.
There are clear Calls to Action across the website to encourage meaningful sales enquiries and the website content was created using a proper keyword-focused approach to ensure the website is optimised for search.
The new WiSen Innovation website continues to grow in visitor numbers and is generating more and more product and sales enquiries. The SEO work has seen the website rank well for a range of search queries, whether for broader informational searches or specific products.
What does WiSen Innovation say?
“Realnet understood our requirements and built our website to budget and with minimal fuss! Highly recommended.”
