First Edition Translations

Website design for Accelonix, Chelmsford

First Edition Translations is one of the UK’s oldest established translation agencies, operating since 1981. They were a founding member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), and continue to uphold the highest industry standards and ethics.

Realnet has been First Edition’s web partner for many years and after it joined Cintra Language Services Group in 2016, we have also taken over responsibility for their website.

Challenge

By 2023, the First Edition website was eight years old, and while investment had been made at times to refresh the website design, there was a need to rebuild the website with a more contemporary look. This provided a great opportunity to review and improve the structure, messaging, and content.

New imagery was required to signal the international credentials of the Cambridge based company and reflect key client sectors. A clear project plan ensured that where sensible (from a messaging and SEO standpoint), existing content could be re-used while also highlighting areas for new website content to be created.

Solution

First Edition now has a website that is modern, well-structured (for both conversion rate and search engine optimisation). The website promotes the First Edition services in a clear, no-nonsense manner.

The new website home page has been built to encompass:

  • Value proposition
  • Routes into key service areas
  • Calls to action (CTAs) for quotes and translator registrations
  • Client Testimonials
  • Accreditations
  • Latest news (feed)

The new website was built using WordPress as the platform and a number if well-regarded plugins were installed for speed optimisation, SEO and forms. Keyword research, conducted as part of our ongoing digital marketing services, was used to improve on-page SEO as part of the project.

Result

The website is well optimised for search engines and ranks for a number of search terms, including ‘book translations’ at or near the top of Google (organic results). The website now has a modern feel and clearly defined set of service areas with relevant, optimised content.
