As a small boutique jewellery shop in Saffron Walden, Something Elegant was doing well.
However they wanted to expand their offering to customers from further a-field, as well as to those who had asked if there was an online shop when buying items. They understood the potential of the online marketplace to their business, and were keen to develop an e-commerce arm to encompass this customer-base.
Something Elegant had an extensive database internally of the products they could sell. Rather than enter each individually onto the website, the website and internal database were linked. As new products arrive into the shop, the database uploads them to the website to keep both in sync.
Realnet developed a filtering system to aid the user find the right piece of jewellery amongst the thousands of potential bangles, bracelets, earrings and charms (to name buy a few of the categories).
Coupled with the product content management and the full ability to change the homepage content to reflect current sales trends and promotions, this site is both versatile and stylish, as well as being simple to administer.
The early site provided a great platform to launch the business on-line.
This has been developed extensively over the following eight years to keep the site in line with the times, increase market share, and make the shopping experience pleasurable, secure and easy.
The online shop complements the physical Saffron Walden shop, both contributing successfully to the business.
