Gee Tee Flower Bulbs originally approached Realnet in 2004, looking to expand their wholesale flower bulbs business on-line.
The business had been a successful wholesaler of flower bulbs to Supermarkets and Garden centres for many years, and with the advent of E-Commerce were ahead of the game in looking to expand online.
We designed and developed a site focused on the customer requirements; bright colours, simplicity, detailed descriptions and gardening advice.
Realnet sat down with Gee Tee and discussed the possibilities which would fit with their business goals going forward.
An attractive design was created which initially lured in the potential customers. As we discovered, flower Bulbs are a great subject for creating an attractive website!
Search engine optimisation was also breaking out as a key element of a successful website, so the website was designed and built to allow it to be found easily on the search engines. With a comprehensive SEO package operating on a number of levels they appear at the top of many related google searches.
A large proportion of Gee Tee's business is now conducted through the website, effectively expanding the business into this new market place. This has not only allowed Gee Tee to maintain their existing market position, but expand it greatly to a whole new client base.
The website has had many small modifications since 2004, and two major revisions taking advantage of new technologies and design styles as E-Commerce has evolved.
The website received so many orders that a system was created to allow easy importing of sales into Gee Tee's internal accounts system, when their internal resources were overwhelmed.
In 2010 the Gee Tee brand was also expanded into The Bulb Shop website, targetting the consumer market.
