Ambersphere are the exclusive UK suppliers of stage and entertainment lighting for the Clay Paky, MA Lighting and Robert Juliat brands. They provide support, service and training for these products from their West London showroom.

As the key supplier to a growing number of well-known venues, they felt that their old site didn't showcase their product range, or the skills and services offered by their factory-trained technicians.

As well as supply and service, training and technical support are key areas that differentiate Ambersphere. They needed to emphasise this, and include an area on their site whereby people can find out information about the courses and easily contact Ambersphere to book their place.

Whilst Ambersphere already had an industry recognised brand they were keen for our design team to develop the style and evolve it for the web.

What we did

The entertainment lighting industry is fast paced, so Ambersphere needed a site that they can update quickly and easily. We delivered a simple-to-use Realnet content managed website with a fresh design.

Rather than a basic news section, we designed a system whereby they are able to create news and articles, and assign them to the most relevant areas of the site. This gives greater prominence to their updates and views, and therefore adds to the relevance of their comments, increasing viewer engagement.

A products module allows the Ambersphere team to add, remove and edit products. Products can be given additional prominence by featuring them in a carousel.

A training module provides excellent functionality to be able to advertise their training courses and allowing prospective attendees to enquire about availability.

The result

Metrics are a powerful tool as they allow us to measure success. Since Ambersphere's new website was made 'live' there has been a noticeable increase in visitors.

The visitors are an almost 50/50 split of returning and new visitors, with an average visit duration of 2.5 minutes. This is a great result as it shows that new visitors are finding the Ambersphere website and once the site has been found visitors are staying on the website to view the content.

The most popular pages of the site after the home page are the training, support and contact pages. However, the fact that the products and product details pages also have high traffic shows that the creation of a journey through the site is working well.
