Busy Online Consumers
Busy Online Consumers
by Dr Tony Berg

UK users are the most web active in Europe. ComScore reports 21.8 million daily visitors spending on average more than 30 hours per month online.
However Packet Exchange report that over 70% won't wait more than 10 seconds for a page to download.
What do we learn from this?
The Internet is becoming more and more important in our lives. We source information, plan holidays and buy things online.
But the competition is intense and getting more so.
If we want to get our message out to as many people as possible then it takes much more than just doing well in Google.
The online customers have high expectations whilst seeking information or products to buy.
To keep your visitor you must provide a modern site that looks and feels good and above all make it easy to find the information you want to share or the products you want to sell.
Our Analytics highlights the challenge of keeping a visitor on site for more than 10 seconds. Create a good experience and a few more visitors may stay long enough to complete the action you want from them.
But that is only the beginning. If the site is to contribute to your bottom line it will need to be given the same care and attention you expect to give to your other sales channels.
Don't expect to just sit back and watch the business roll in – that is a sure way to see your web conversions drop into oblivion.

"The interest in our website gradually grew and then the response became fantastic. Our car sales enquiries came from all parts of the country and, as a result of this, our car sales increased to record-breaking numbers."
