80% online growth
80% online growth
by Dr Tony Berg

According to the IMRG, online sales in July reached an all-time high, up 80% on last year.
Jo Evans, IMRG's managing director confirmed that the data is real and reflects the next generation of slick new Internet retailing services coming on stream from the major brands. The big players' success is now driving e-retail growth.
She added 'the retail sector is being transformed by frictionless e-commerce.'
An interesting expression: Friction - defined in Wikipedia as 'the force that opposes motion'.
We have all experienced this force on poorly constructed websites. And usually the force exceeds our desire to proceed. Set the friction too high and be sure of losing potential customers.
There is now a range of tools available to measure and reduce this friction. If these tools are managed skilfully they can have a dramatic impact on the performance of any website.
We have been developing these tools now for many years and have watched our client’s websites make a growing contribution to the company performance.
By careful site management and by setting and monitoring goals and KPIs, an ongoing increase in conversion efficiency helps build the contribution from the website to the bottom line.
Most websites are sitting in cyberspace waiting for something to happen.
80% growth is being driven by the major players but is available to anyone smart enough to know how to join the bandwagon.
Are you part of the Internet business explosion?
